Hi guys,
I'm sure you have noticed errors in the latest batch of WUs. This is due to formatting errors on a few ligands and results in many failed WUs because each ligand is paired with each receptor, therefore 1 failed ligand is muliplied by the number of proteins with which it is docked.

We have always had some errors in our ligands but the rate has been quite low (< 0.5%) overall until now. As the rate has increased (8% in the last 24 hours), I will be disabling the work generator until tomorrow afternoon while I weed out some of the errors.
Thanks for the feedback,
Kevin

The program works. Posted by project on malaria. However, nothing on my side is not calculated.
Could you make sure that all that is required from the user is to install the program. A priority project is selected, left for you! For the general user has less knowledge in this area than you! The simpler the better for the user.
Thank you.

Not sure what "Kos" is on about!

Good luck with the cleanup. I, like many others have a few machines ready and waiting for more work as soon as you're ready too :-) (until then, they have a little rest).

I can only agree with Melchior...my system is also patiently waiting though I am filling in with other projects.

Kevin's anticipated 'tomorrow afternoon' for a fix is now disappearing well into the past and there's still no sign of any work - or, worse yet, of any update on timing.

When we can expect normal service to resume? Speaking personally, I find delays much less frustrating when I am kept informed of the position.

Come on, guys, malaria won't cure itself!

I take it that the fight does not go well. Any idea when we might expect more work down the line? Enquiring minds want to know. :)

Kos I THINK you have done everything right, but the project is having problems with the units right now and they aren't sending any out for we users to crunch. As soon as that is fixed you should start getting some units to crunch.

Yay, thank you for the information, the next Wu´s are in work now.
Over 9,000,000 Wu´s to do, can you make an little status bar into the server status, please?

I could exaggerate and say all 9 million WU's just downloaded into my BOINC client, but that would be a lie. However, I'd love to know how it's figured out that several dozen FMAH WU's are OK when other projects are also crunching...it's not that they are being squeezed out or anything but I just doubt they'll all be processed in time so I've turned off work fetch for the Nth time since signing on here.

While I'm on a roll here, Kevin, how about turning on the BOINC-wide teams please? Then I can add Team Canada as my team.

Hi Guys,
Sorry or the delay getting back to you. I'm very busy preparing for my thesis exam.

@Ex_Brit
We use much smaller WUs than other projects. To reduce the strain on the servers we allow more WUs to be downloaded at once. The deadline is also quite long so as to allow the WUs to complete.

As for BOINC wide teams. We have turned it on. The script ran last night at 18:30. I'm not sure why your team is not imported though I suspect that a team with the same ID already existed. I will look into this as soon as I have my viva next week.

@Aurel
I will do this next week when I have finished my viva. It's something that has been on my to do list for far too long.

Regards,
Kevin

@Kevin

Thanks for the explanation & turning the B-W teams on. SiriusB, who is a member of the actual Team Canada anyway made a team of the same name here: http://boinc.ucd.ie/fmah/team_display.php?teamid=116

Unfortunately it isn't the real one. I PM'd him to delete it or maybe change the name a bit?

It's the thesis defence grilling a candidate has to go through before a postgraduate degree can be awarded.

I hope you sail through it Kevin.

Kevin, Sirius B has renamed 'Canada' to 'Team Canada' and may rename it again, but the actual Team Canada hasn't yet appeared. Just thought I'd update you on that.
