Ant and the swarm - Have you considered some sort of mailing list, or even a one time email "Hey gang, we're back" type notice? (Once you are back, I mean)

Best I remember we all had to supply an email address to join BOINC. Not sure if you have access to those or not, but if so that would be an easy way to send a notice so we don't have to keep checking in every little bit.

You can chose an option, if admins can write E-Mails to you, or not. Mostly it´s "yes".

I just set the resource share for Fightmalaria@home to 100%, that way once there are tasks to do, it will automatically switch from the other project back to this one!

Thanks Leopards!
We have just received the last piece of hardware we needed to revamp the donated servers, and Kevin has already installed a new version of BOINC on our shiny new SSD - all paid for through the generous support of our BOINC community! So thanks again to all those who donated money on top of CPU time.
Ciao,
Ant

That's great, I anticipate the "great name change" any time soon.

Which I guess brings up the next question: Is someone planning on sending an email out to people once things are online and ready to go?

Some things are moving as the servers of DNA@Home have come back up and I can contact them for the first time since the 8th May 2012 (it did duplicate all my computers however).

The DNA servers are fast filling up with heaps of SPAM though, so if the SPAM can be removed first before trying to group the projects (DNA@Home, SubSetsum and FightMalaria) would be a good idea.

Hi Ant,

I hope you are nearly ready...

We see there is an upcoming desease on the way to infect more and more people, I mean MERS.
We should start now, to find an way to solve this desease.

Some data´s about it there, it´s more than 1,5 TB. [that´s the most important data´s]

Fightmalaria@home isn't part of thoese projects.

DNA@Home, Wildlife@Home and SubsetSum@Home are the ones being merged onto a single project.

Nothing to do with this one :D

Your are right Falconet, I am not sure how I mixed them all up.

Probably due to both lots of Admin wanting to rename servers and possibly start new Boinc projects, where I would prefer to set up a main umbrella project and have any new ones or other existing ones (that are administered by the same group) set up as sub-projects.

Also limited information from both lots of projects is a bit of a problem.

Trying to follow where I post at all the different projects confuses me sometimes.
I was probably on the wrong project page when I started typing, saw FightMalaria at the top of the page and added that project name into my post.

We've just tested the new server with its new HD and it's failed us. PCIe fail. We're going to have to revert to the old machine using a new HD until we can get new hardware. Hopefully a little speed up there.

ciao,
Ant
