In January after the project stopped I set myself a goal of clocking up 1/2 Million points in other projects or come back to this project . I passed my goal several weeks ago and still nothing from this project.

Sadly I think this project is now defunct so am winding down my overall BOINC involvement in all projects.

Au revoir and good luck to all.

Sorry to hear this. We are dormant, not defunct. A mixture of workload and holidays mean we won't be able to get anything going again before the end of July.
ciao,
Ant

This has been a complete waste of computer cycles. I'll click on "No new tasks" until i'm notified in the "Notices" from the BOINC Manager.

When things wrapped up I was just about to break through to the top 40 American contributors. But the half year delay has been pretty alienating.

Malaria is among most dangerous infectious diseases out there, but we get messages that imply that your team is taking a month off, and is too busy to communicate with your donors. And then a month after the vacation, there's still no update.

If you're focusing on the validation studies, great! Let us know how they're going.

Dayle,

The malaria project was completed last November, at least for contributors of CPU cycles.

Refer to former forum posts for the preliminary results obtained from that project, and how they have been used thus far.

The new project we are all awaiting will be FiND@Home (Fighting Neglected Diseases). It will initially focus on protein docking research relative to new solutions in the fight against tuberculosis.

And yes, we're all waiting for an update on this once the Fall semester gets into full swing (hopefully)! <Wink-wink to Ant!>

Tuberculosis! Excellent, well there's something to look forward to!

Here's the problem, there's been no updates in some time about how the compounds we have identified are faring in vitro.

August has gone, September as well. You haven't had work in long enough that BOINC at Berkeley no longer lists the project. Realistically has it passed away?

Any idea when new tasks may be available? Do you have any more current update? Thanks.

Hi all,

Our project has a new burst of energy with a new PhD student (Ben) who will take over from Kevin. He's learning the ropes, and is the process of build the FiND@H server.

Thanks for your patience.

Ant

Hi,

I'll do my best to send you new jobs ASAP. I'm building a new server from scratch.

I dare you to crash my new multithreading job assimilator :)

Ben.
