Looking back in boinc tasks history I see I lost another hundred that had finished & reported but don't show up on FIND's website in task details, the last tasks shown here are from the 31st Jan :(

Projects tend to do that, unfortunately. I would recommend looking at the "credits" instead of 'completed WUs' as the former does carry on. Clicking on any ID on this site will show how many points they have but I prefer to use http://www.boincstats.com

Ok. The batch is here. Sorry for the "bug".

WUs with 22p12 and 22p22 in the name.

Good morning (Green Hills Georgia time :) ,

2/4/2015 9:06:01 AM FiND@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 2/4/2015 9:06:01 AM FiND@Home Message from server: Project has no tasks available
Just as feedback: When the '8,310,176 WUs' were released, they came and went AMAZINGLY quickly. ... After the initial batch of many dozens, which -- despite the disclaimer
Some WU may take some time to complete.
in fact all only took minutes each -- I have had trouble getting ANY new tasks in 24 hours on any of my PCs

Even more frustrating: I had many dozens of tasks which went to waste:

Message 1885 - Posted: 4 Feb 2015, 14:41:15 UTC - in response to Message 1884.

Read previous messages. I fired a new batch but we found a bug (took 4 hours to find the bug).

So I REMOVED all results, that why you have those messages saying "no longer usable".

But now it's fixed and the 8,310,176 WUs are ready to be crunched again :)

Hi,

I'm downloading wus right now. Are they the valid ones?

Thanks!

My Team have a lot of them.

I need to emulate a ARMv7 first. But maybe you can test with this version of Vina, it may work.

WUs are still for TB.

... ARMv6 only. ...

There's a duplicate <user_friendly_name> configured, same for arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf and armv6l-unknown-linux-gnueabihf

p.s.: Technically not a problem but it looks strange on the apps.php page.

No, it's not compiled for Android. The version targets the Raspberry Pi.

arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf and armv6l-unknown-linux-gnueabihf are both for the Pi, but I didn't know which one will work so I put both :)

That is strange...every userland application that runs on the RPi "1" should also happily run on the RPi2 (just faster;-) ) as the Cortex-A7 cores on them should be perfectly backwards compatible. Actually (apart from firmware and Linux kernel) the Raspbian Linux distribution that is used for the RPi2 is mostly unchanged, so most of the software that RPi2 users are using today was still compiled for the ARMv6 architecture and runs just fine.

The RPi2 is about 5-6 times more productive in BOINC than the RPi if you can use all 4 cores in parallel, so users might want to give it a try.

As for the Parallella board mentioned earlier in this thread: The claimed peak FLOPS for this board come from an accelerator chip that is by no means easy to write code for. I don't think any BOINC project has yet succeeded to make any use of it. So as of today, you would be running the BOINC tasks on the ARM CPU of this board, which is a bit faster on a core-to-core comparison with the RPi2, but then again it's only a dual-core.

HB

EDIT: Indeed, the ARMv6 app seems to work just fine on the RPi2: http://findah.ucd.ie/results.php?hostid=37789&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid= took about 30 minutes to finish.

However, a lot of tasks seem to fail on my Raspberry Pi2 because of lack of memory. It seems some task require more memory than is stated in the workunit definitions (otherwise BOINC should not start them).

I said that because GCC used a depreciated ARMv6 instruction to compile Vina, and I read that the instruction was removed from ARMv7. But if it's working, that's nice :)

As I can't predict the time a WU will take, I also can't predict the memory it will require...
