I stopped the BOINC server. I'm currently putting 3 million task into the database. The script will take some time. I'm going home now. I will restart the server on Monday.

I've still got tasks on my systems. Luckily their deadline isn't until next Friday so they should keep until you restart the servers.

Have a good weekend.

You mean holidays? I don't know what it is :)

I fixed the database. My python code was wrong and instead of inserting 3 000 000 tasks it inserted 182 000 000 tasks... database = crash :)

Appears to be almost down this weekend also - very slow at letting users see or post messages on the message boards, and the server is not accepting uploads.

By the way, if someone converted your application to run on GPUs, would you have enough server capacity to handle the increased workload - probably around ten times as much, if you could generate workunits fast enough?

It's maybe the UCD network as the server is not on a heavy load.

None of my ~30 pieces have uploaded since about 1400 on Friday.
Is all okay?

The server status (link on the home page) now shows about half of the server programs as not running. Is the problem with the server running out of disk space getting worse?

It shows the uploads server program as running. However, my computers are trying to send uploads, and even the rather small ones aren't being accepted.

How difficult would it be to modify the server status page to show both the amount of free space on the hard drive of the server, and the amount needed to stop the uploads program from accepting any more uploads?

Message 2542 - Posted: 16 Aug 2015, 9:31:22 UTC

It looks like the university server that hosts the project is down unexpectedly, this is something the project has little or no control over. It will be sorted out in the coming week, hopefully, as it is a weekend in the August holiday period.
I have temporarily suspended all work units with no new tasks and will resume when my current completed units are successfully uploaded. I suggest all volunteers suspend, be patient and wait for the resumption.

Copy-Paste my post:
The last couple of days I wasn't able to look at the server. I have been very busy, not for work but for personal reason.

Back alive :)

I'm sorry for that.

[error] Error reported by file upload server: can't open log file '../log_findah/file_upload_handler.log' (errno: 9)

p.s.: maybe you started something with the wrong login account?
