I just want you all to know that this project was a 6 months project that was part of my PhD programme.

Now, I have to work in another lab but I'll still maintain this server, because I really like what we are doing here. But I'll may be less present.

I would like to clean the database, and the server before inserting the HUGE batch of 60M WUs. It'll keep you busy for the next couple of weeks :)

I'm now working with Rhodococcus equi, that causes a TB like illness among the foal. It's a wet lab based project.

Basically yes. Not few days offline but few days without new WU because I need all results back before the new judge batch.

Hi Ben, Compliments on your dedication

Perhaps some clarifications. Who is now running the programme? Who is the lead scientist? Who has overall responsibility for the publication of the data? Under whose name will it be published?

I have looked at the UCD CASL site but there are no references to this or the previous Malaria programmes. Nor are there any references to Dr. Anthony Chubb (his research scientist profile is more informative) or yourself as far as I can see.

Meanwhile your batch has arrived and, so far, there have been no problems with failures. My only issue is that they appear to ignore resource share settings and hog the CPUs. They are like a horde of hungry Pacmen sweeping in from the desert like a horde of invading Mongolian horsemen, to mix metaphors.

The only way that other WUs get a look in is when they become 'high priority'. As I like to get a balance I usually I click 'no new tasks' after 2-3 days, since every time I upload a batch I seem to get twice as many replacements.

Keep up the good work

"My only issue is that they appear to ignore resource share settings and hog the CPUs.."

This a known problem with this project's implementation of VINA

Ben posted in another thread that he has new code compiled with a new BOINC API.

Hopefully, that will resolve these issues
