Hi,

I signed up some days ago. Fightmalaria@home shows in my projects list. However I do not seem to get tasks from the server:

Wed Aug 29 17:01:19 2012 | fightmalaria@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Wed Aug 29 17:01:19 2012 | fightmalaria@home | No tasks sent

There's no news that tells that there's an issue of some sort. Do I miss something?

Regards,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
We currently don't have a MacOS version of the new app. Unfortunately our Mac dev machine is out of action and it's taken us a while to replace it. It will be up and running tomorrow or Friday and we will release the app.
Thanks,
Kevin

I see that you're running BOINC 7.2.28 which keeps track of how much time your computer has run each project for and will only request work from the project which has the biggest shortfall. BOINC will balance the amount of work done for each of your projects over the long term, but in the short term a computer might have some projects with no queued work.

For example, one of my computers currently has no pending FMAH work after completing a large batch of tasks, but I know it will request more when the project becomes the highest priority for work fetch:

03-Dec-2013 07:45:45 [fightmalaria@home] Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. 03-Dec-2013 07:45:45 [fightmalaria@home] Reporting 49 completed tasks 03-Dec-2013 07:45:45 [fightmalaria@home] Not requesting tasks: project is not highest priority 03-Dec-2013 07:45:57 [fightmalaria@home] Scheduler request completed

Only for this project or for others as well? I ask because this project has run out of work for right now. It will be dry for awhile but plans to return with more work, but unclear when that might be.

Just for the record, FightMalaria is basically out of work units. After the first of the year, The Powers That Be are planning to start a similar project researching TB.

http://boinc.ucd.ie/fmah/forum_thread.php?id=162

To save you some time (maybe) reading the other threads, the plan is to send TB work units out via Malaria servers, at least "for a while".

So hang in there, and have a Merry Christmas. (or whatever you celebrate this time of year)
