Hi guys,
One of the tables in our task database has been corrupted. As a result we will be down for at least a few hours while we restore from a recent backup and ensure that we aren't missing anything. We will be back up and running soon.
Thanks,
Kevin

Any update on this situation? Not rushing anything, and don't want to sound like I am. Just eager to get back to crunching work units for this project.

It seems the completed units are still not being uploaded. It would be appreciated if that issue was resolved firstly as there are still many units that still need to be processed.

Hi Guys,
Just putting the finishing touches on this. It should be up and running in two or three hours. Sorry for the delay - the database in 90GB so it took a long time to restore.

If I press 'Update' in the 'BOINC Manager' on the 'Projects' tab, I would normally expect it to download some new tasks for me to work on.

It is not doing that. Looking in the 'Event Log', I have the following:-

11/04/2013 18:11:16 | fightmalaria@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
11/04/2013 18:11:16 | fightmalaria@home | Not reporting or requesting tasks
11/04/2013 18:11:22 | fightmalaria@home | Scheduler request completed

Is this deliberate?

Mike

Everything should be fine now. I know my systems are reporting in work units and getting a ton of new ones.

The clue is in the "Not reporting or requesting tasks" line Mike. That's a decision made by your computer.

If you're attached to other projects the most likely thing is that FM@H has had more than its share of CPU time and won't request any work until the other projects have made up their shortfall.

The other possibility is that you've disabled work fetch for the project. With FM@H selected on the Projects tab work fetch is allowed if the third command button reads "No new tasks". If it reads "Allow new tasks" you'll need to click it to re-enable work fetch.

It's not working for me at this time. I continue to get "Communication Deferred"

Every time BOINC sends a scheduler request it blocks requests for a semi-random time to control the load on the project's scheduler, and the "Communication Deferred" message is displayed when a new request is attempted during that period. Blocked attempts will modify the request disallow period.

Requests should only be blocked like this when users are making manual requests too quickly using the Update button on the Projects tab of BOINC Manager's advanced view.
