That's the one, BOINC told me, as the wrong site to attach to:
Fight Neglected Diseases: Notice from BOINC
This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://compute.gridrepublic.org/ 07.12.2016 19:52:13

This message clearly told all participants: The URL is outdated, move over to the GridRepublic. Perhaps the head honchos should make a new message, that clearly states, that the project hasn't moved anywhere, that all was just a mistake.

That's something that the client generates. Sadly, we are not in control of that message.

I want my usual account page, no account manager at all. Where is it?

It is literally in this website. Here.

Is there any way to manage the project at its new location? I asked some time ago here, how to do this, but there doesn't seem to be anyone to answer. The fora over there are a bit disorganized anyway.

You do not need to use the GR account manager; you can stick to BAM. Your settings can be updated in this website.
4) Message boards : Number crunching : Can't attach Raspberry Pi3: "This project doesn't support computers of the type arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf" (Message 2840)
Posted 8 Dec 2016 by Rytis
Since the switch to the new server I get this message on my Pi3's. My Pi2's, which were perfectly able to run FiND before, now also get that message.

We do not currently have the app for Pis, but I'll look into migrating it from the old server.
5) Questions and Answers : Web site : Question regarding Notice received regarding project using an old URL (Message 2835)
Posted 7 Dec 2016 by Rytis
Their are to many issues and unknowns to keep running the Project
gridrepublic network computing I do not seeing being approved by BOINC as well.

You are not running GridRepublic; you are running FiND (Fight Neglected Diseases). GridRepublic is just a place which hosts the servers.

I'll have a chat with Willy at BOINCstats regarding BAM and FiND synchronization.

Bruce,

you do not need to reattach to the new URL, unless you want to clear the notice. If you do reattach, make sure you do not create a new account but instead use the existing account option. We synchronize your settings and credits between the new and old servers.

You can change your names in the "Your account" page ("other account info" link inside that page) on every project you are attached to. If you want all projects to be linked together and visible on the website, you will also need to make sure you use the same email address (you may have to reattach when you change your email, but again, be extra vigilant not to create new accounts but use existing ones instead).
7) Message boards : Number crunching : Server maintenance on December 8 (Message 2831)

We are planning to do database maintenance on December 8. The forums will work, but scheduler won't, so your BOINC client will not be able to receive and report back any work for several hours.
8) Message boards : Number crunching : CE12 WUs (Message 2830)
Posted 6 Dec 2016 by Rytis
I am curious... is there any way to see our hosts' output, the WU's completed and validated? I do not find this either under the old websites, nor at gridrepublic

Thanks.
LLP, PhD PE

We do not currently synchronize the results as we are still fine tuning the system on GridRepublic's server (we can barely validate results coming in fast enough at this point, but we'll probably get it cleared). We do synchronize credit back to this server and preferences to the GR server, but that's about it at this point.

Project prefs are synced from this server to the new server every hour. So changing settings here will work, but you may have to wait a little while.

Regarding "ce12" app name: yes, that is Charity Engine naming scheme. CPU time now comes not only from you, but also from Charity Engine, which has been generous in donating CPU time to several BOINC projects (in particular, see Rosetta's success) - that is why we've went for their naming scheme. You could attach to Charity Engine and see that Fight Neglected Diseases project (which is the expansion of the FiND abbreviation!) is not running any work from Charity Engine - it is only Charity Engine that runs work from here.

As for other "more difficult" questions: I am a developer, so I did answer what I could, which is mostly technical stuff. And now Anthony has posted an update in another thread: http://findah.ucd.ie/forum_thread.php?id=307&postid=2819#2819

skgiven, those are Charity Engine work units and are typically work that was paid for by another company to be ran by CE's volunteers. It is confidential and so you have no idea what you are running in those cases. This project needs a clear division between FiND@home and Charity Engine or at least be very up front about its association as not everyone is willing to support a company using their systems for financial gain.

That is completely wrong. There is absolutely no relation between Charity Engine and FiND, except that CE donates some CPU time.

I've tried deleting the current project and adding the one at the new URL in the logs, but have never successfully attached. It has created a user id for me on the new site, but that's it

You do not need to reattach to the new URL (except for maybe clearing the notice in the client), but if you do, you should choose to use the existing account and not create a new one.

We had an issue with the database; the servers are currently running. Sorry!

It will also take a while for results to validate, we have quite a backlog.

New user, connected to http://findah.ucd.ie/

| | Fetching configuration file from http://findah.ucd.ie/get_project_config.php
| FiND@Home | Master file download succeeded
| FiND@Home | Sending scheduler request: Project initialization.
| Fight Neglected Diseases | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
| Fight Neglected Diseases | This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://compute.gridrepublic.org/
| Fight Neglected Diseases | Invalid or missing account key. To fix, remove and add this project .

I can login to findah, but not to gridrepublic (no account with my email)

Could you try again now? I think I fixed the issue.

OK, project preferences should now be syncing. It will approximately an hour after the changes are made for them to sync up.

The problem with older BOINC clients may be our use of HTTPS for scheduler requests. Older BOINC clients did not have full set of certification authorities listed; if you do not want to upgrade, you could try transplanting a file "ca-bundle.crt" from a newer client to the old one and it may just fix the issue.

Oh, and our servers occasionally really are down :)
18) Message boards : Number crunching : Some tasks being aborted due to "exceeded elapsed time limit" (Message 2773)
Posted 27 Nov 2016 by Rytis
Yes, there is high variability in task durations and that throws BOINC off-track, especially if you are (un)lucky enough to get multiple short tasks in sequence. I'll try to increase the limits to avoid these aborts.

[edit] Tasks starting with 16_* have been adjusted to have higher limits. Now working on remaining tasks, mostly the ones starting with 17_*.

See Anthony's post above - http://findah.ucd.ie/forum_thread.php?id=267&postid=2711#2711

I'm one of the developers for GridRepublic. You may also know me from other BOINC and BOINC-related projects, for example, I was the guy who originally started PrimeGrid.

As described here, there is limited synchronization between two servers. We do however synchronize team credits even though your BOINC manager does not show the team name.
